Castermerlino's activities initially began almost by accident when in the 70s the company was oriented towards the
camping market producing Larch wood footboards for veranda flooring and this particular wood was chosen due to its
moisture resistance qualities.
Immediately after, other accessories (such as the best-selling
Ercolino table, folding and entirely in larch) were added and other items such as
benches,
stools and other models of folding tables were gradually included in the range.
The presence at historical
camping trade shows such as
Calenzano and later on
Turin, favored the widespread distribution of products in the industry and excellent sales results.In the meantime, the production of
solid wood rustic furniture began, such as tavern tables, cupboards and interior benches.
The development of processes with
machines more suitable for mass production went hand in hand with the expansion of Castelmerlino's range of articles.
The use of larch wood for shower footboards and consequently the development of a product line for the bathroom was a natural evolution.
Today production has grown into two product ranges: Camping / Garden and Bathroom Accessories. Larch is the main raw material which is accompanied by Okumé marine plywood (used on both lines of products), composite materials and steel parts from traditional pipes to the most modern laser processing.
